Hi my name is Dennis and I want to welcome you to my newsletter.
Let's get to know one another and learn internet marketing as a group. Ask questions, leave comments... I want every person to feel at home. The only silly question is one that is never asked. We're all here to learn and keep up with the yearly advances. 2021 is just around the corner... let's make it our best year ever.
Quote of the Week
From Proverbs
Even if you never read in the Bible before, Proverbs are full of wisdom. Most were written by the richest man on Earth, King Solomon!
If King Solomon were alive today most scholars say he would be a Trillionaire! (One trillion is equal to 1000 billion) King Solomon was the son of David... you remember... David & Goliath.
Proverbs has 31 Chapters.... read one chapter a day and you can read all of them in one month. Want to get wise in business and life, read through Proverbs every month for a year and see how your life changes.
Proverbs 15:22 "Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success." NLT

Focus
I've had a big problem with focus. In this digital age it is so easy to lose concentration on what you need to get done. Each week I want to give you ideas and tools that have helped me with focusing on your work to achieve goals. If you're not doing activities that make sales then you're on the wrong track.
I just finished reading "Master Your Focus"©2019 by Thibaut Meurisse This is a great read to help you focus in this digital world. If you noticed I mentioned this book before....a good read.
Thibaut says about overcoming the shiny object syndrome:
"I believe we can differentiate four types of scenarios for which Shiny Object Syndrome applies. These are:"
Jumping from one goal to another.
Jumping from one course to another (with the same ultimate goal)
Jumping from one tactic to another.
Jumping from one type of training material to another.

Find a Niche
We had looked at this some in newsletter #1, but I want to go more into depth with it.
If you pick the wrong niche, you're doomed to fail from the beginning and I actually find that 60 to 70% do fail. I really want to go over how to pick a great niche. So I'm going to share with you some really, really fundamental core things. It's a simple question, what does a human need? What does a human need and want so much that they're willing to hold a credit card out and use their hard earned money to purchase.
The best niches fulfill people's needs. There are logical needs... air, water, food, shelter, sleep, clothing, reproduction. Make sense, right?
Safety needs... personal security, employment, health, property.
Love and belonging, friendship, intimacy, family sense of connection, right? Starting to get into the areas where a lot of really good niches are possible for information marketers, right? Love relationships, connection, emotions, how to improve your marriage, how to find your soulmate, dating, you know how to make more friends.
Some niches are time tested, everyone feeling good, health and fitness are super big. I don't think I turn on the TV at any given time and you see these niches constantly. Healthy people want to spend good money on keeping healthy. The great thing about these niches are that you can get a recurring income on something they purchase every month.
So literally the niches that lead to the most emotional connection are the ones that people are willing to spend tons and tons of money.
So let me give you some niche examples. I want to start paving the way we look at niches. So notice that niche "I want to be wealthy" is not a niche. It's way too generic. That's like if you wanted to learn how to be entrepreneur, you're gonna go to Google and type in "business." Nope... so a good example of a niche is "how to build an online business." Now that still fits into the wealth category, but more specific. So it's very targeted.
In marriage relationships, seeking spiritual awakening, peak performance, there are literally so many subdivisions and then divisions of the subdivision. So you can't be in just personal development, it's got to get specific, that's what creates a great niche. You've got to find a niche that's not only specific, but that's big enough. So now you're thinking, how do I do that? Listen, there are infinite, thousands of niches that are that are not only big enough, but they are strong enough and passionate, and they have money.
And here's a little one that I want to throw at you. And that is information. But a niche that has a ending is no good. I'll give you an example. SAT prep. It's a very good niche, you can make a lot of money, but once a student finishes they never need you again, versus something like golfing. Right?
Information marketing has super high margin. It's super adaptable to all economies, recession, depression doesn't matter. Everyone's always looking for information.
So here's my checklist. The four secret hacks that I look for when I'm trying to choose a great niche.
Number one - digital friendly...I just talked about that. Okay, I just thought you don't want to necessarily always have to deal with physical products. Physical products require shipping and warehousing and blah, blah, blah, and the margins are always minimal on them. So I want a digital friendly product if it's my own. It's a rough road if it's your own product, but don't forget that if you are a affiliate marketer the seller of the product takes care of all that.... warehousing, shipping, customer service, etc. You make a commission for the sale and don't have to deal with all that.
Second, I want something with major competition... a lot of people out there would say competition is bad. Hey, you know what we should find a niche that has zero competition. Then after 2 months you've only made 2 sales. Competition is good, because it is proven. The reason there are so many in a competitive niche is because they are making money.
Third is popularity in search. Google's happy to let you know how many times keywords are searched to give you a really good idea of how many times people search about a particular niche. Keywords are a training all by itself. In Newsletter #2 we studied keywords and the difference between short and long tail keywords. Newsletter #3 I gave you keyword tools to use. We will get into more details about keywords in the future.
Forth is long term potential. I just shared that with you earlier. I want to be in a niche where I can develop a relationship with someone over time, that they grow, still need me and want to do business with me. That makes the lifetime value of the customer high, and I'm able to make a lot more money in the long term.
Health issues, diabetes, chronic pain, anxiety, survival, investing are digital marketing. So far, all of those are long term pain points creating value in people's lives.
All right, dating advice, get your ex back, weddings, NLP, bodybuilding, anti aging, law of attraction, seeking hypnosis. All examples of niches that have long term potential that are digital information. Focus... lots of people have money and a deep desire to spend their money on solving their pain.
Now let's do a litmus test to see if you're onto something good or not. Go to magazines.com Here's the deal, ladies and gentlemen, if your niche does not have a magazine devoted to it, and there's not enough people out there who want to buy a magazine about your niche....probably not that great of a niche. Now understand it's expensive to make a magazine, to print it, to get it written, to have all the photography, all the design work, the physical shipping. If there is not enough people out there who want to buy it.... probably not a good niche. If people are buying a magazine about your niche.....probably a profitable one.
That's interesting, so if I can find a topic that has multiple magazines about it, that means there's multiple people out there buying the magazines and that's a niche that can make money.
Well I barely touched the surface of all the topics we'll learn together. Any questions or comments please leave them. We are here to help each other. I'm your brother and want to welcome you to our family. As we build as a group I will run some surveys to find out where the majority want to learn.
Have a blessed day and see you next week, Dennis
